Asia Food Fest Returns For Fourth Year Of Cultural Celebration
Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce, Satay Restaurant, Texas Culinary Academy To Sponsor
(Austin, TX) August 5, 2009 -- The Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce (TACC), along with Satay Restaurant and Texas Culinary Academy, announces the fourth annual Asia Food Fest to take place Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12. The event kicks off Friday from 6 ? 8 p.m. with a delicious Tour of Asia event featuring an array of Asian flavors from some of Central Texas' most renowned Asian-owned and Asian-inspired restaurants. Attendees can also find out about their favorite chefs at a Meet the Chefs Reception.
The events will take place in the stylish, dramatic Ventana Restaurant at Texas Culinary Academy, and will feature a cash bar with select wines and beers.
On Saturday, return to Texas Culinary Academy for a day of pan-Asian activities including an Iron Chef-style cooking competition, dynamic cooking classes for kids and adults, and an Asian market with a vibrant selection of merchandise showcasing a range of Asian cultural traditions. Eight chefs will do culinary battle during round one of the Iron Chef-style cooking competition at 11 a.m. The winner will compete against last year's champion Chef Chad Pritchard during round two at 2 p.m. From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., join the experts as they offer cooking classes for adults and kids alike. Throughout the day, the Asian market will feature gifts and goods from across the east.
